EL Segundo Public Safety Hosts National Night Out, August 1, 2023

Folks across the South Bay Los Angeles will gather with their neighbors on Tuesday, Aug. 2, for an annual event to celebrate and build community-police relationships.

National Night Out, which began in 1984, is an annual community-building campaign that provides an opportunity to create police-community bonds and neighborhood camaraderie in the hopes of creating safer towns.

Some towns will celebrate National Night Out later in the week. But either way, the goal is to bring police and neighbors together in a positive environment.

Below is a selection of National Night Out events in the South Bay throughout the week. To check for events in your area, contact your local law enforcement agency of neighborhood association.

Carson, CA: Annual community night out, “A March Against Crime and Violence.” The free event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at the Carson Sheriff’s Station, 21356 S. Avalon Blvd. There will be food, dancing, entertainment and giveaways. Information: Carson Station Community Relations office, 310-847-4019 or 310-847-8386.
